I have a Lenovo Ideapad running windows 10, and I can't activate the stereo mix. I have tried the option to show disabled devices, but it is not.

This issue may occur due to High Definition audio codecis not installed in the computer.

For now try the steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Method 1:

Please try the following steps to enable the stereo mix and check if that help.

1. Right click on the audio icon in your system tray and select “Recording Devices” to open the Recording device settings in the “Sound” window.
2. In the pane, right-click on a blank area, and make sure both “View Disabled Devices” and “View Disconnected Devices” options are checked. You should be able to see the “Stereo Mix” option appearing.
3. Right-click on “Stereo Mix” and click “Enable” to be able to use it.

This should enable the “Stereo Mix” on Windows 8 and if the issue still persist try method 2.

Method 2.

I suggest you to install High Definition audio codec, installing codec may resolve the issue. Visit the below link to download and install the codec.
